Sicilian peasants continue »u occupy great tracts of land, including vineyards, oliveyards, and orange groves. There was a general strike for twu hours' yesterday throughout Italy os a protest against reaction in IJ'aly, and a mark of sympathy with Bolshevik Russia. All the trains stopped from 3 to 5 o'clock, during which -period ..the railway officials were requested to assume a serious mid dignified attitude.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.. (Eec; October 15, 10.10 p.m.) Rome, October 15. Tho two. hours' strike was generally peaceful, but there were several fatal encounters with troops. Extremists at Bologna, invaded the gaol. A Socialist and a policeman were tilled and thirteen wounded in Milan by « bomb, which was flung amidst a body of troops, who fired on the demonstrators, killing one.
