The Minister gave a sympathetic hearing to the delegates, and said that a strong case had been presented, and if it did not increase tho price of .bread that was a 6trong point in its favour. The Minister suggested that an amendment to the Factories Act would meet the position more expeditiously, and would be preferable fo presenting a Bill so lato in tho session. The daylight baking Question had been presented to tho Prime Minister, the Hon. W. F. Massey, when Minister of Labour last session, arid Mr. Hemes promised to consult Mr. Massey on the matter and' see if the proposals presented could be acted upon.
