ANTAGONISM DEVELOPING CRITICAL SITUATION IN MOSCOW (By Telegraph-Press Association-Oopjrifat Copenhagen, October 13. Reports from Helsingfors state that strong anti-Bolshevik feeling is developing at Riga, where there were several disturbances following the Reds'' defeat, and anti-Soviet meetings were held in the factories.. The Government is strengthening the military in Moscow, where street fighting is reported, the military having to 6torm barricades. The situation is critical. Hundreds of arrests have been made. A report from Riga stat&s that a conspiracy has been discovered in Siberia. A big organisation, composed of White Guards, headed by officers from Kolchak's and Semenoff's armies, intended to blow up the ammunition depots, factories, bridges, and railways, and kill the Communist leaders. A thousand members of the organisation have been arrested. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE RllSSOmisH ARMISTICE LITHUANIA LEFT IN THE LURCH. Riga, October 13. The armistice between Russia, Poland, and Ukrainia was signed after three weeks of verbal sparring, finishing; with four days and nights' uninterrupted debate. It is not regarded as a permanent settlement, and it is generally considered to be a contrivance to avoid winter fighting. The worst feature of the treaty is tho treatment of Lithuania, whioh is left in the lurch by tho Bolsheviks at the mercy of Poland—"Tho Times.". BOLSHEVIKS SIGN UNDER COMPULSION. (Rec. October 14, 8 p.m.) Riga, October 13. The Bolsheviks, when signing tho armistice, stated .that they only did so under compulsion. The truce will be effective from October 18.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
