Wedding at Napier. . A wedding of interest was celebrated in Napier, at St. Patrick's Church, on Monday afternoon, when Miss Maisie. Biggins, second daughter of Mrs. J. Higgins, - Marino Parade, Napier, and the late Mr. John Higgins, was married to Mr. L'Estrange Edwards, only son of Sii Bassett and Lady Edwards, Wellington. The Rev. Father Timmins, assisted by the Rev. Father_ Clancy,, officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. L. Higgins, of Puketapu, wore a watte georgette dress trimmed with'Hon* itan lace, and made with a''long train of silver brocade, lined with , lavender, .and caught to the shouldei-3 with ;a.diamond clnsp. Her tulle veil was fastened with orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful bouquet' of white carnations and stock. The two bridesmaids were her sisters, Miss Madge and Miss Julia Higgins, the former wearing pale pink georgette and the latter lemon-coloured georgeSe, with georgette hats -to match their frocks. Little Joan Eyan was trainbearer. Tho best man was Mr. Moritzen, of Auckland, and tho groomsman Mr. C. C. Miles, of Napier. After the ceremony nt'the church, a reception was held at the residence on the Parade, where a number of relatives and friends were received" by Mrs. Higgins, who wore a dress of black Irish poplin trimmed with' jet, and a black velvet hat with white ospreys. She.carried a lavender bouquet ot_ anemones with tinted ribbon, to match.'.lady Edwards wore a grey silk dress with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of red anemones and' autumn leaves with tulle to match. The Tres Bon Fair, The annual fair in connection with the' Salvation Army's self-denial appeal was continued again in the Town Hall yesterday. In the afternoon it was opened by lady Stout, who'eulogised tho magnificent work done by this organisation throughout the world. She had met General Booth, the founder, on two occasions,, .and his influence in the world fiiis last 55 years would remain for, all time. Items were contributed by the boys from the Island Bay Home, and an organ recital was given by Mr. Clement Howe. Having declared the 'fair open, good business was done throughout the whole afternoon, and the tastefully decorated stalls were thronged with eager buyers. Tho fair was continued in tho evening when another excellent programme was given, a laTge number of people "being present. Songs weTe contributed by Mib-s Olive Barth, Messrs. A. Pickett, Frank Charles, Frank Andrews, and Master M'Gill (the boy soprano). A pianoforte due,t by the Misses filienherj, a monologue by Miss Shepherd, and a flute solo by Mr. C. Gibbons helped greatly to make an enjoyable programme. One special item of the evening was an exhibition by the New'-Eea-hnd trick pianist, Mr. Frank Andrews. The accompanist, for the evening was Mr. ('. H. Pope. The fair will be continued t«'-dny, and will be opened in the afternoon Bv Mis. Sidney Kirkcaldie. The Girls' Home choir will give items, and again at night a good lirogrammo will provide pleasure to those;: attending tho fair.
