The proposal emanating from Aucb land to form a farmers' political party was discussed by a general meeting of members of the Wanganui branch of the Farmers' Union to-day, but did not meet with favour nt all. It wis 'considered that farmers had mixed politics and that any attempt to force tho position would probably lead to the disintegration of the Farmers' Union._ It was considered also that farming interests received, a fair deal in tho House of Representatives," tho membership of which included many farmers.
