Hie Mayor (Mr. If. W. M'Ewan), who presided, said that Brfono Bad every reason to bo.proud of the success its tfcams had. attained during the. past year. There was no other town of the same population in tlw Dominion, which could produce a similar record, or erfen approach it. (Applause.) Mr. M'Ewan thon read out a list—full details of which have already been published in The Dominion— of the championships won, his remarks boring frequently punctuated withl applause. Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., who was' greeted with applause, said that he had always been proud of the district, because he knew it could produce strong and virile men .and women. "Let those glorious champions brace together and hold what they have got," said Air. Wilford. Under his lead the gathering sang "For They are Jolly Good Fellows," after which three, resounding, cheers wore giveu for the champions. Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., said that in enumerating the championships the Mayor had omitted one—that of the Liberal Party. The speaker congratulated the Rillo Club on its splendid record, referring specially to the services of Messrs. .T. H. Lynsfey 'and S. Nicholls and Major W. Hardham, V.C.
