SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE'S VISIT
Under the auspices of the Wellington Spirltuallßt CQiurch ' (Incorporated), Mrs. J. Vf. Stables, president of the National Association Spiritualists' Churches, -New Zealand, and president of the Wellington Spiritualist Church, delivered a- message rccoived by her from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, relative to his cominir visit to New Zealand, fiir Arthur, who is accompanicd by hiß vife. Lady Doyle, and children, will visit all the centres ; in New Zealand, Mid will deliver lectures on spiritualism, its r 1 ilosonhv and teachings, its scientific nr.d religious basis. Tho speaker read, from "Tho Two Worlds," of the enthusiastic send-off to Sir Arthur and Lady Doyle, rii-'or to their departure for Australia and JJew Zealand. Dr. . Abraham Wallace, during the course of his l'emarkß said that some of Sir Arthur'n uninformed 'critics did not realise. thnt he was a scientific man. They luiew him only as a great writer of history and of detective stories, but tlicy Ivere entirely ignorant of tile faet that lie was trained as a medical student at i Edinburgh University at the time, when it had the largest medical school in. the world, and was at the zenith of its fame. He was trained not tnly in evact science, but in medical psychology; htnee he was qualified.' and still is, to ■ be a perfect psychical rcaea roller.
