' Tho Board of Foreign Missions o£ tho Methodist Church has received a cable message from Peking, stating that thirty million Cliiheso are suffering from fam. hie, and there are deaths daily. A report from Tokio says it is undeietooi that Japan fwill Supply 500,00(J bushels of rice to relieve the Chinese i famine. China is to pay for it through a loan. | Tho American lied Cross will take immediate measures to reliove the famine. A cable message from tho American Ambassador in China, Mr. Crano, stated that conditions were most serious, and relief needed very urgently. Thi' Commandant in Manila, General Kernam, announced that the United States army transport?, upon regular trips from Manila to China, will devote part of their cargo space for the transport of clothing for the Chinese famine Victims, and will also collect from points of call in tho South Pacific food collected by the Philippine Relief Committee — Aus.-N.Z.
