LAWS OF TENNIS

4 THE FOOT-FAULT QUESTION. London, October 2. Mr Alfred Crawley, writing in the "Observer," announces tho intention *of tho governing body of the Tennis Association to revise the laws of the game en bloc. The principal alteration concerns foot faults. He eaya that in principle there is nothihg wrong in practice, it is very difficult for a linesman to say whether tho server's foot is over the line before he hits the ball, and quite impossible for the umpire, who decides in the absence of a linesman. The association proposes that a server who raises one foot from the ground must replace it b&h'Jnd the base line.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
