Tho game wan very even and much good play ivaa shown despite the greasy ball and ground. On the whole, the winners were the better team. Thnradon attacked 'immediately after the kick-off, and Prldmore early scorcd a Rood uoal. Not lone afterwards Anton converted a penalty-liick into a second goal. Good passing took place on both sides, tho Blues attacking well with the wind. Mariet also had their share, and soon Bnrke put ia a nice shot, which Henderson failed to dear properly lettlne Tancrcd scoro a good coal. This reverse woke Thorndon up, and they attacked verv hotly, iriving Ilickey (in eoal) plenty to do. Jl'Leod had hard lucS in hitting the post twice. Anton, after some prettv footwork, passed to Pridmore, who scored Thorndon's third goal. Even piny took place for a while In the second spell, until Anton scored a fourth coal. Mariat made a big fight after this to 6tavc off defeat, but su<v cpertcd In necurlne two more soals only, Tancred and Tiurkc being the scorers. For llariat. Burke, Tancred, O'Connell, a.ud Pope played well. Mr. W. G. Bryce was rclcrco FOURTH B CHARITY CUP. On Saturday the semi-final of the Fourth B Charity Cup waß played between Thorndon and Karori. Both teams had met earlier in thiv season, the results being a draw, and a win for Thorndon by 3 goals to 2. Saturday's match was evenly contested, and both teamu fought hard until the call of tlmo. The first spell saw Karori to the fore, and Russell opened their account with a brilliant shot. A few minutea before the cp.ll of time Foßter found on an opening in the Thorndon defence, and made the score even. It was decided to play twenty minutes' extra time. Karori kicked off with the wind at their back, and Scott, kicking hard into Karori's goalmouth, followed up, and beat tho goalkeeper, makinsr the score:— Thorndon, 3; Karori, 2. From now on Thorndon had the game well in hand, and added two more goals to their total, the scorers beine Swindale and Williams. Hr. J. Roberts controlled the came.
