OPENING OP THE GREEN. On Saturday afternoon the Victoria Club's green was officially opened for t,he Reason by tho pvcsldcut of tho club (Air. ■ W. K. Jackson). There was a good atr tendance of ladies, members, and visiting bowlers from city and suburbau clubs. Tho president, extended a cordial welcome to tho visitors, amongst who! . wore Mr. T. Bush (president of tho Dominion;' Bowline Association), Mr. F. Mcado\vcroiV (president of tile Wellington Centre), and, Mr. S. Underwood (secretary to the ccn-, tro). Reerot was expressed at the ansenoe. through serious illness, of 0110 o£; tho directorn and an old member of tlift club (Mr. G. Macmorrnn), and the hopo was expressed that lie might soon regain] his teaHh, and tako part in his 'favour-, • ito pastime. Tho president ooDgratulatod, the club's green-keeper (Mr. Holmes) om tho flm conditlqn of the green, which 1 was expected to givo satisfaction to play-' ers during the season. Reference was | made to the holding of the dominion ; tournamont ki Wellington next January, - when it that record entries would be received!
