VESTEYS PURCHASE BRITISH GOVERNMENT'S STOCKS. London, October 1. Vesteys, Ltd., have purchased the bulk the Government stocks of Australasian beef, amounting to over a million, quarters. Vesteys, Ltd., have purchased tho whole of tho Government stocks stored in England, Australia, an 4 New Zealand, also those in transit, loss the Army requirements. Tho rnjjat trade is gratified, 'because this will clear the market. A correspondent interviewed Vesteys, who state that the stocks will probably total a million quarters, the greater portion of which is stored in Australasia. They were unable to estimate the quantity acquired until the Army requirements were ascertained. It had not been decided whero and when they would resell tho beef.
