Tlio Civil List Bill provides that tho person ■ administering the government of Now Zealand during tho illness or ahsenco of the Governor-General, shall receive salary at tho rate of half tlio salary l-iid to tho Governor-General (.fnOOO a year), plus half the salary of any other offico held by the Administrator, llio l'rimo Minister stated m tho House last night that this arrangement would apply te the period during which Sir Robert Stout was Administrator, before llio arrival of Lord Jellieoe.
