STOWAWAYS FROM COLON

"There appears to be an epidemic ol stowaways from Colon," remarked Mr. W. G. Mollish, who appeared for tho owners of the s,s. Corinthic, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. It appeared that when the. Corinthic was at Colon, a man named Roy J. Purdy secreted himcclf on board, and was not discovered until'two days after the vessel left that port. He was charged yestorday before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., with going to sea on the e.B. Corinthic without the consent of the owner, muster, or mato. Purdy pleaded guilty and was fined Xlfl. in default one month's imprisonment.
