CANTERBURY GRAIN MARKET Br Telegraph—l>rcss Association. Chrictchurch, September 28. The grain trade has not been so quiet for many months as it is at present, and any business occurring is mostly in small lines. Particularly is tliis the case in regard to oats, the market for .which during the past week has been practically stationary. Seed wheat for resowmg was in request after last week's downpour. The t present fall of rain on some localities, where the newly-sown lands wero already water-lodged, will add further to the damage, besides rendering sowing at this late period doubtful wisdom. There are earlier sown districts where the previous rain is reported to have done good rather than hnrni. ENGLISH WOOL MARKETS (Rec. September 29, 0.10 a.m.) London, September 27.
