CANADA HOSTILE TO JAPAN'S PROPOSAL.

Ottawa, September 27. Official oirclos in Canada are greatly interested in the intimations from Tokio that Japan will insist on race equality at the forthcoming meeting of the League of Nations. The opinion is expressed that Canada will take an important part in the discussions. It is believed that the Dominion will bo hostile to the Japanese proposal owing to tho Japanese problem in British Columbia, whore there is bitter opposition to racial equality.—Aus.-N.Z.
