Mr A. Johnson, who recently resign. e3 from, the position of overseer to tho Wairanypa South County Council iu oixler to follow farming pursuits, was on Saturday presented with, a token ol esfwm from the county employees. A meeting of the Wairarapa .-Rugby Union was held at Carterton on Saturday night, Mr. 11. J. Southgate presiding Mr. A. B. Balfour, of Greytown, was accorded a vote of thanks for his donation of a cud for the junior, com* petition, a condition being that the tropbv could not bo won outright. It was decided to have the Greytown iClub a namo inscribed on the cup for this seaeon It was decided that £1 collected of the Dalefield-Eketahuna match bo forwarded to tho Olympic Games Fund. Two olniros for expenses in travelling to representative matches were . received, and caused a general discussion. - Tho amount, of one claim was reduced, and it was 3ecided that in future claims for N expenses of this nature would not be paid. Accounts amounting to £170 7s. ware 'passed for payment. It was reported that the expenses of tho southern lour totalled .£172 9s. 4d., and of the Wellington trip ,£B4.
