CHINA AND RUSSIA
OFFICIAL RELATIONS TERMINATED. (Reo. September 2G, 5.5 p.m.) Peking, September 24. The Foreign Office has announced the termination of official relations with the Russian Legation and the withdrawal of tho' recognition of Russian Consuls. China will maintain neutrality in all Russian political differences. The Ministries of the Chinese Government hare been requested to Bubmit proposals for the disposal of Russian land concessions, especially along the Chinese Eastern Railway.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
New York, ■September 24. The Peking correspondent of the New York "Times" reports that Prince Kondacheff, the head of the Tsarist Russian Diplomatio Corps l , refused to close the Legation. China is embarrassed at the result, since it hopes to deprive the Russians of their extra territorial rights, and thus to encourage other nations to abandon their corresponding privileges.—Aus.N.Z.
