i 'By Teleeraph.-Special Correspondent. Palmerst.n North, September 24. A conference of local bodies was held at Fpilding to-day to (discuss ft proposal to form a: hydroelectric power board. Mr. Birks (Government engineer) stated that the Department's suggestion was to form one district of all the area between the Manawatu and Rangitikci rivers. It was, however, .large enough to .be subdivided. It was pointed out that tho Palmerston Borough and Kairanga County were forming a separate board. It was decided to form a provisional power board, consisting of es STthe Manawatu. Pohangina. Oroua. and Kiwitea Counties, and Folding Boiomh This step is not binding on to local bodies concerned.
