'UTTERANCES REPLIED TO Sy PIIILP DELEGATION. London, September 23. The delegation headed by Sir Hubert Philp_, has addressed a statement to tho Queensland electors, refuting Mr. Theodore's utterances sinco his return to Queensland. The delegation declares that it strictly adhered to tho objects of tho mission, of supporting tho petition to tho King on the subject of repudiatovy 'legislation, and reiiuestinc; the appointment of a Lieutenant-Governor. The members scrupulously avoided interviews with financiers. The failure of Mr. Theodore's mission, it says, was entirely due. to tho fact that tho Queensland Government's confiscatory and repndiatory legislation was well known in London financial circles before tho delegation arrived. The delegates will sail on Vrlrtftv,—Aue;1 N.Z. Cable Awn.
