The quarterly mating of the Petone Fire Board was held yesterday afternoon, the chairman (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan) presiding „ , , . On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to accept with regret the resignation of Mr. T. Sutclitfe and to send him a letter expressing the knrd's appreciation of the work he had done during lus membership. Mr. £. S. M. Dean, who has been appointed to fill the vacancy, ,vas welcomed by tho meeting. The chairman was appointed delegate to the confcrenco of tire boards to be held in Wellington.
