ANTI-PROFITEERING BILL
PROVISIONS OP NEW SOUTH WALES MEASURE. (Reo. September 21, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, September 21. The Anti-profiteering Bill, introduced by tho Attorney-General, provides ifnter alia for the restriction of undue profits, tho collection of information regard-, in? tho operations of trusts, the prevention of unfair methods of trade competition, tho promotion of co-operative enterprise,' tho amendment of the Arbitration Acts and the. control and. acquisition of necessary commodities and tho control of necessary services. Tho penalties for breaches of the Act are fixed at fines from .£IOO to .£IOOO and imprisonment for five years, Tho Supremo Court i 6 empowered to wiiul up corporations guilty of breach' of tho Act. The Bill also provides for tho limitation of the expsirt of necessary commo-' dities when there are not sufficient supplies for homo consumption, and tho taxation of excess profits.—Pre6s Assn.
