A Bhort Bitting oE the Magistrates Court waß held on Saturday morning, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. bsing on the bench. For drunkenness. Margaret M Keown ana Mary Johnson were each fined. 20s. A prohibition order was issued against the latter. ■' Frederick G. Phillips, a fireman, was convicted on a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner in Lambton Quay while drunk, and was fined 205., in default 48 hours' imprisonment, . The case of James Stellin v. William Jfhn Webster, a claim for £28 165.. which was decided on Friday (when judgment was given for plaintiff), was mentioned by Mr. E. P. Bunny, counsel, for defendant, who asked that the judgment ,be amended, and entered un against William George Webster, son 1 of the defendant. The Magistrate stated that the case had 1 closed and that he had no power to accede' to counsel's request. Mr. Treadwell, who appeared for the plaintiff, said that he had proejeded against the father, who was the oc/r of the premises from which , the horse strayed. Tho matter was left for private settlement between tho parties.
