In tho semi-final Kirkwood and Douglas were followed bv three hundred spectators. Both drove tremendous balls I throughout. The. first hole was halved in. fours. Kirkwood wen the second with a nice four, Douglas playing his third out in the rough, and taking 5. The third was halved in fours. Foth were in the rough at the fourth/and both were short. Kirkwood holed with' Ms fourth, and Douglas jn«t. missed-2 down. Douglas won the fifth with a perfect feur to five. The sixth was halved in four. Kirkwood won the seventh by 5 to 6. The eighth was halved for four, and the ninth in fiveß. having i'.irkwood two up. The Australian won the tenth in 4 to 5-three up. Douglas got a brilliant four at tho eleventh, and reduced the lead to 2 up. lie was badly in the rough at the next, however, and could get only a 5 to his opponent's 4. Kirkwood J up.
