PRICE OF MILK
FOE THE COMING YEAR. The Secretary of the Board of Trade has forwarded the following oommu.iication on the price of milk to the Town Clerk:—"Following the recent, meeting between various suppliers of milk to Wellington City, members and officials of the City Council, and members of (he Board of Trade, when a basis for calculation of price was agTeed upon, I>am now directed to inform vqu that the board's decision (applying the agreed formula to the price to bo paid for butter-fat for export)_ is that the prices for town milk supplies, delivered to 'Wellington, shall be:—From September 1 to March 31, Is. id. per irallon (of 10>,lb.): from April 1 to Mnv 31 (15 per cent, increase on base price). Is. (id. per gallon; from Juno 1 to Ausrust 31 (CO per cent, increase on base price), 2s. per gallon." After the letter was read, Councillor J Hutchison asked how that affected Mr. Strand. The Mavor said that it did not nflect Mr. Strand selling milk Mow thoso prices. If he did so, it was so much more to his credit, (Goncral cries of "itear, hear!")
