The match. M'Ewan v. Brook?, was very exciting. The latter played a splendid lons tame, and was two un at the turn. The next two were halved. M'Ewan won the t-velf"< with 4. and the next was halved. Both were r.ear the pin at the tricky fourteenth. M'Ewan-lowered the nutt for two. and Brooks just lipped the hole. Brooke won the fifteenth with a brilliant 4. and M'Ewan evened by takir, : > the. sixteenth. 410 yards, iii 3. Brooks just touched the hole. but. failed to oven. The next two were halved, M'Ewan thus winning ! un. ,
East, the Australian, was 4 up on Blair at the turn. Then Blair won two holes, and halved two, and reduced him Dormcy two. East won the sixteenth, and won 3 and 1.
M'OoTmiclc was 3 down, and l 5 toilay on Lock, but won the next three holes, and t-kirnr the Hitcenth, 410 vards. in 4 took the lead. Dr. Boss went out in 37 against i. Harold, and was o"e over fours at the thirteenth, where the game ended. The Mayor is declaring a public holiday on Friday morning for the nrofeseional match, Australia v. New Zealand, when Klrkwood and Fast will be pitted against Douglas and lies.
The teams' match for the Ororke Vase was. won by Auckland, with Wangauui 3 points off.
