THE KING'S THEATRE. "Ou Our Solection," the latest E. J. Carroll nrodnction. is drawing crowded nouses nightly at the Kinjr's Theatre. The photo-plav is adapted from a book of the snnifl nanio, bv tlie Australian author, Steele Rudd. The characters are inado to live through many hundred feet of film, and none of their humour is lost by the picturisation. A strong supporting programme is also being shown. . EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. To-night will bo the final screening of the grand programme showing at Everybody's Theatre. "Big Money," which is the stav, features James Knight, and is a splendid comedy-drama of English and Irish countty life. Other interesting pictures are: "Wellington from the Skies," the tenth. episode of'"The Mystery of 13," and a comedy. Heading tho new programme to-morrow is "Tho . Tower of Jewels." EMPRESS THEATRE. At' the Empress Theatre during the week packed audiences have witnessed one of .ilhe finest programmes yet seen, which ilncludes "Social Ambition," featuring Howard Hickman and Rhea Mitchell, a drama of Alaskan dance halls. The supporting films include Gaumont Graphic, "Liberty" serial, and ""Wellington from the Skies," as seen from Walsh Bros.' Avro. A complete change is announced for to-morrow. MISS BENE- MAXWELL. Mr! Duncan -Neven arrived from Sydney yesterday ahead of a concert company headed by Miss Eene Maxwell, a particularly brilliant Sydney soprano, ■who has lately returned to Australia after achieving much success in England. Miss Maxwell has the distinction of being the only artist who was commanded to sing before the Prince of Wales during his recent visit to Australia. This took place at Government House, Adelaide, -wrten the young singer made a marked impression. Miss Maxwell will be supported in New Zealand by Mr. Vernon. Sellars (baritone), Miss Una Black (violinist), and Miss Natalie Eosenwnx (pianist) Details of the tour will be announced later. ■ '• Mr. George Matheson, of J. G. Williamson's managerial staff, arrived from Sydney yesterday to-make advance arra.ng'ements for. the tour of Mr. Lowell Thomas, the well-known English traveller and lecturer, whose illustrated talks on ./Palestine (during the war) and big gamehunting in Africa nave been as successful in Australia as they were in England. The tour is to commence in Ohristchurch.
