MEETING OP WELLINGTON CENTRE A meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held last night, the president (Mr. F. Meadowcroft) being in the eliair. A' deputation waa received from tho Central Bowling Club, Pctone, asking that the association bo recommendod to grant its application for affiliation. The representatives of the club wero welcomed by the president, aud after their Withdrawal a resolution was unanimously adopted recommending that their request be acceded to. Tho president drew attention to the fact that to-day week tho new association would be assembled in Wellington, and it would be hiß pleasure, with the permission of tho centre, to entertain the president and secretaries of the clubs in the centre, togother with members of the council, at a social evening In (he Wellington Bowling Club's pavilion that night.—The suggestion wan adopted. Consideration was given to-a letter from Mr. Shallerass with reference to the suggested appointment of a supervising greens' superintendent for clubs in the city, together with a proposal for the purchase of a dlgcstor for treating sofl required for top-dressinj the greens of the city clubs. After some discussion tho delegates resolved that although favourable to the scheme, the time was not opportune to endeavour to persuade tho various clubs to take it up.
