SOUTHERN MARKETS
By Te!«' Christchurch, September If. The oat market continues the see-saw-insr that has characterised it of late. The decline in values mentioned in the week-end report progressed further, and on Monday sales were effected as low as 4s. 2d. f.0.b.5.i., a sevenpence drop on values obtaining ten. days previously. To-day it showed a sharp finning, and slight business was done at Is. 4d.. thero being few sellers at that figure, however. It is useless to suggest reasons or explanations for these fluctuations, and in the extreme sensitiveness of the market nil that can be said with any confident is that, the tone is healthier. The present inactivity of the seed market in largely a reflex of the stagnancy in the lcadiiiß produce lines.
