PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL
The fortnightly meeting of the Petone Borouffh Council was held last evening, Sus Mavor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan) presiding. A letter was received froin the J rln '« Minister acknowledging receipt of the council's letter suggesting that a part of ! tlio land already held by the Government in I'etone, be acquired by the Hallway Department for workers homes, and statins that he was obtaining a report on the matter from the Manager of Hallways. The resignation of Mr. W. T. Toon, electrical enuinccr, was accepted. The District Health Officer forwarded a certificate showing repairs required to he eßected at a property in Richmond Street. It was resolved that .the owner be given notice to have the repairs efleoted withro Jjever Broß., Ltd., wrote pointing out that a road wfilpn used to. give access to the rear of tTielr property had been fenced oil. althonglijt was still shown unon the subdivisiomu plan, anfi asking that {lie road be i-dentiflcd. —It was decided to draw the attention of tho Gear Company lo the matter. The secretary of the Ambulance Committee advised that the committee could not agree to the ccmn'eil's proposal for the housing of tho van. Building permits totalling £2515 sverc Issued during the month, making a total value for the year of £12,903.
