HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Mayor (Mr. F,. P. Risliworth) presided over last night's meetinst of the Lower Hutt- Borough Council. The secretary Btated that tho 'ommittce was prepared to pay double lime for such mail's services. It was deeded to accede to the brigade's request. A communication was received from the rowu Clerk, Wellington, stating that so far only a few loads of timber for tho building of a whare at Wainui-o-mata had been taken over the streets of tho borough, md that his council considered tile count's request premature—lt was decided to send a copy of tho engineer's report on tho matter to the Wellington City Council. The Town Clerk,gPetono, desired to know whether the council would grant the use jf the road roller during a period when the same was not being used in the Hutt Borough, and if so, on what terms.—The Mayor said that tho use of the roller 30uld not be granted at present, 'ihe matter could be referred to tho engineer, who could report when the roller was idle. He moved in that direction, and the motion was carried. The Hutt Cricket Club applied for the use of the Recreation Ground and pavilion for the season 1920-21 on the same terms ia last season—lt was decided to reply that the council was prepared to grant the use of the ground on the payment of £10 10s„ under conditions similar to those jf last year.
