KING'S THEATRE. Most people are familjav with Steele Budd's, story, "On Our Selection," which treats graphically back-block, lite in Australia, an(l many are renewing acquaintance with the 6tory which is being screened thts week \at (he ICingy Theatre. The struggles and eventual triumph of Dad .and Mum and the Rtidd family are shown in a manner which appeals to all, and the pathos and humour of the story is put to the very best use by the producer. Strong supporting pictures are shown, and further attractions hre the siiigjlig -'of ' Mr. James Schofield. tenor, and the contributions of the King's Orchestra. EMPRESS THEATRE. "Social Ambition," a drama of the ■Alaskan dance halls, is the special attraction now showing at the Empress Theatre; One scene alono, the big dance hall, is a masterpiece of direction. Not the least of the unusual elements In the film is the remarkable work of Rhea Mitchell as Rose, the dance-hall girl. The scenes are laid in New York and in the white waste of Alaska, and some are rarely beautiful. The supporting subjects include the 13th episode of "Liberty," and an interesting "Gaumon.t. Gazette," also "Wellington from the Skies," as seen from Messrs. Walsh Bros.'s aeroplane. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. The pleasing screen star, i James Knight, has the leading part in "Big Money," which is showing at Everybody's Theatre. This splendid comedydriu»a js adapted from the. famous Hovel, "A Run for His Money.' The socnery is delightful, there being many grand / views of English and Irish rural life. A highly interesting topical, "Wellington from the Skies,shows splendid views of the capital city. "OUR, REVEILLE." '■ .! The attractive pot-pourri, "Our Rereille," will conclude its season this evening. The' production has been a pronounced success at each performance, and the pretty costumes and artistic lighting effect.', add to the merit of the clever musical melange. > The dancing of Miss Dorothy White "and Mr. W. Lints is a feature cf the revue. .. ANNUAL RECITAL. To-night and to-morrow Mr. Culford Bell is holding his annual Tccitals in the Concert Chamber, when two excellent programmes of plays, scenes, character sketches, musical monologues, and humorous and dramatic recitations will be given. The items are well variedi and it is promised will be fyund to be prcttv and pleasing to all lovers of good elocution and Acting. Seats may be booked e.t the Bristol. SKATING AT ISLAND BAY. Skating enthusists will be interested in an announcement that the Olympia Skating Rink, Island Bay. is to be opened to-morrow evening. The rink will be under the management of Mr. A. h. I'ower, late proprietor of the Colosseum Bink Oluistchuvch. Daily sessions will ■be held 230 to 5 and 7.30 to 10 p.m.
