EDUCATION HOARD BY ELECTION
ME. TVM. T. GRUNDY ELECTED. In connection with the bv-election to fill the vacancy on the "Wellington Education Board caused by tho resignation of Mr. A. W. Hogg (representing the Wairarapa Rural Area), an official count of the votes took place yesterday mornincr. There were two candidates, Messrs. Wm. Thomas Grundy and Mr. .Tames M. Nicholls (chairman of tho Carterton School Committee). Mr. Grundy, who was elected, polled 224 votes, and Mr. Nicholls 101. There wero six informal votes.
Mr. Grundy is very well-known in Wellington, having been headmaster of the Clyde Quay School for over a quarter of a century, and ho only left that post on his retirement from the service of the board a few years ngo. Since his retirement Mr. Grundy has resided in Mcsterton.
