The Mayor (Mr. .T. P. Luke), who hns lieen on a, week-end visit to Wanganui, returned to Wellington last evening.
Mr. B. W. Dalton, His Majesty's Trade Commissioner, and Mrs. Dalton returned to Wellington yesterday from Auckland.
Mr. B. Stnnmore Day, of Auckland, is staying at tho Hotel Cecil, en route for tho south. Mr. P. Mackay, a member of the Auckland City Council, is also at the Cocil'.
The death is reported from Christ, church of Mr. Joshua. Little, a wellknown citizen, who was prominently connected with the canal movement.
