London, September 10. The High Commissioners for Australia and New Zealand, Mr. A. Fisher and Sir James Allen, welcomed Sir AVilliam and Lady Birdwcod at. St. Paucras Station on' their return to London. Mr. Fisher provides General Birdwood with an office in Australia House pending his departure for India. Sir William Birdwood declined to bo interviewed, explaining that ho had net given mi interview tho wholo time ho was in Australia, and that he was unwilling to disturb that record.
