EARTHQUAKE IN ITALY
TOWNS AND VILLAGES DESTROYED Romo, September 8. The earthquake destroyed the towns of Fivizzano, Collemandina, Eoliera, Quercia, Molassa, and Tarasco, and many villages, including several in the vicinity of the Carrara marble quarfies. Tho people are panic-stricken, and are camping in the open. Relief parties are finding many dead and injured. Tho details are incomplete,' and tho telegraphs and telephones nro destroyed.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DEATHS ESTIMATED AT 300. (Rec. September 10, 0.45 a.m.) Rome, September 9. It is estimated that three hundred were killed by tho earthquake.—Router. SHAKE FELT IN SWITZERLAND.
