A FARM MYSTERY
YOUTH AND LITTLE BOY DISAPPEAR. By TelsgT&ph—Sooolol Correspondent. IMasterton, September 9. The mysterious d.eappearance of Edward Hay, an es-liidustrial School hoy employed by Mr. Georgo M'Kenzie, farmer, of Fernridge, and of Mr. M'Kenzie's three-year-old eon Gavin, was reported to the police, at 7 o'clock to-night. It appeai-a that after lunch Hay, who is eighteen years of age, was occupied in filling hay racks. At about 2 p.m. ''Gavin M'Kenzie was sent out to the racka to meet Hay, but when the latter returned: soon after he alleged that he had seen nothing of rf,he child. He was sent back jfgan to find the boy and since then , nothing has been, seen of either Hay' or Gavin M'Kenzie.
A search party found Hay's cap and coat among some fern to the vicinity of the homestead, but otherwise no tSraces have been left behind. At eleven o'clock to-night between 30 and 10 men were «i----gagea in the search, but nothing further bad been found.
