VICTORIA THE LEADING STATE.

Melbourne. September 7. The subscriptions to the Federal Peace Loan jumped to fifteen millions on Monday. The figures are incomplete. Victoria is leading, and the subscriptions yesterday were two millions, bringing the total for the State to sis and a half millions. New South Wales is four millions short of its quota.—Press Assn.

FULL SUBSCRIPTION HOPED FOR. (Bee. September 7, 9.15 p.m.) Melbourne, September 7. In the House of liepresentatives Sir Joseph Cook (Federal Treasurer) stated that twenty-two millions were in sight for the second Peace Loan.
