Sir,—Will you, through the medium of your paper, allow a, grievance to bo tired? Namely, tho fact that 60 far Wellington, as 1 a city, has made no attempt to assist the "Fight the Famine Fund," which in many other centres lias received excellont support. Tho WoJnen'e Christian Temperance Union in many branches is making its own effort, and will continue to do so, but tho district W.C.T.U. is desirous of seeing a ■wide effort made, tho necessity is so great end the circumstances so appalling and tragic.
