OBJECTION TO' SCOURING BEFORE SHIPMENT. ■;-., Melbourne, Septetnber.4. Mr: W. M. Hughes, replying to a question in tho House of Representatives; explained that tho British Government' disapproved of wool-scouring in Australia, as the wool sold badly compared with greasy. He' disagreed witli the British Government's attitude, and had convened a meeting of.wool interests, with the obiect of encouraging tho industry locally. The opening of the wool sales season has been fixed for Sydney and Adelaide as October 4, and later on Melbourne. A hundred thousand bales will be offered in October in Melbourne—Press A6sn.
