BIG FIRE IN OAMARU

A destructive fire occurred this momin? in the large building of the North Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association. The fire wis discovered shortly after 3 o'clock. The brigade responded promptly to tho alarm, but the lire had obtained it strong hold on the inftammablo doods with which the building was stocked, and though there was a splendid pressure of water some hours were occupied in subduing the flames. The sceneof the outbreak was a< recent addition to the main building, and included alarge showroom and some departments of the general business. To that part, which comprised little more than a third •if tiio main structure, the fire was confined, Pire-iiroof doors between the two parts greatly helped the brigade.
