IF BARRY DECIDES TO RETIRE

Arnst, having lodged a deposit of iIOO in support of his challenge for the world's championship, will succeed to tho titlo within three months if Barry adheres to his decision to retire. Tho provido that the holder must accept a challenge within three months, and must, race within six months, or within nine if tho-venue is changed to another country. Kemp won th« title from Beach under these conditions, and so did Charles Towns win it from his brother George—Press Assn. BARRY'S VIEW OF FELTON'S ACTION WILL NOT ROW FOR CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN. (R'ec. August 31, 7.15 p.m.) Sydney, August 31. Barry, discussing Feltxm's action, said: "I was sent to Australia to try to bring back the championship to England, and make good- with my supporters. I will not row Felton or any other man for championship honours. lam too old, and feel I could not go through another preparation, and my last words are, so far as I am concerned, Felton may have his stake back."—Press Assn. Felton has withdrawn all objections .ito the stakeholder paying the stakes to Barry, stating that the reason for' his protest was not because of the money, but to show his supporters what he could do. Felton says, his grievance is not against Barry, bun against the umpire, and concludes by wishing Barry good luck—Press Assn.
