PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS

; Sir,—l was glad to Bee in this morning's Dominion- that the Hon. Mr. MacGregor had given notice in the Legislative) Council for the cancellation of preference to •.unionists, whioh I consider a step in tlio right direction. There is not the least doubt'it would be hailed with satisfaction by most of the honest and loyal workers throughout tho Dominion, lor the clause is only a benefit to the inefficient and lazy worker, and whereas the unions aTe controlled and managed by the extremist it is quite time somo drastic action was taken to counteract their actions. It is quite evident that the industrial progress of tho country cannut proceed the way things are now, and tho sooner nil loyal workers realiso this fact the better for themselves and the whole community.—l am, etc., LOYAL WOiS-KER. Wellington, August 27, 1920.
