JAPAN'S ISOLATION
OF MILITARISTS,
Tokio, August 29. Professor Anaslci, a famous internationalist, in nn interview, said that Japan is now isolated from the rest of the world, and the anti-Japanese agitation in'the United States, China, Siberia, and Korea are making Japan's position difficult. Japanese militarists aro responsible for this ill-feeling, which Is also in evidence in Britain and France. Japan will bo unable to improve her international status as long as tho militarists continuo in authority.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SETTLEMENT OF CALIFORNIA PROBLEM EXPECTED. Washington, August 29. The American Secretary of State (Mr Bainbridgo Colby) and tho Japaneso Ambassador (Mr. Shidclmrn) informally discussed the Japanese question in California. Mr. Colby stated afterwards that ho had ground for hope that the question would be settled soon in a manlier satisfactory to tho people of California and to the .Tananeso Government. -Aus.-N.Z.
