AUTO-CYCLE UNION
■ ' ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The"annual conference of the New Zealand Auto-Cyclo Union was held at tho Chamber of Commerce on Friday, llr. G. Torstonson (Manawatu) presided, and there were eighteen delegates present from various affiliated club's in' different parte of the Dominion. The secretary stated that tho annual report and balance-sheet were not quite complete on account of tho failure of some of tho affiliated clubs to furnish reports and statements. Tho balance-sheet submitted showed receipts amounting to '£% 16s. 10d., including a balance of cash in hand of £46 12s. 4d. from the previous year, and an expenditure of £46 12s. Bd., showing cash in hand at tho end of the Jato financial year of £50 4s. 2d. _Several items in the balance-sheet were discussed at , some length, and the position was criticised by delegates as not quite satisfactory. After prolonged discussion the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho bal-ance-sheet of the New Zealand Riders' ■Benevolent Fund was approved Bubjcct to a provision that the balance should be Invested by the trustees. Tho president referred to tho success of motor-cycling and track racing, with which he had been connccted since its inception. The success was proved by the large attendance at track meetings lie considered it was one of the best sports In the Dominion to-day. The election of officers resulted as follows ;-Prcsident, Mr. A. E. Davy (Gisnorno); itc.e-presidents M.essrs. G Torstonson, J. D. Briasco, P. Stainton'secretary, Mr. Jf. C. Crichton (Hawera).' A resolution of thanks to the lato secretary, Mr. J. L. Lloyd, was recorded and a similar vote to Mr. G. Torstonson the late president.
