The fifteen-round jnofossioiml boxing contest between Jack Ileeney; of Gisborne, and Les Gleeson, of Australia, for a puree cf JSISO and expenses, was won by Heeney. The contest was characterised by in-fightiug throughout, in which the local lad easily excelled, and won from the 6tart, the result never being in doubt. '
