WANGANTJI COLLEGE (17) V. CHRIST'S COLLEGE (S). .
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, August 11. The final of the inter-collegiate matches was played to-day, when Wanganui College defeated Christ's College by 17 points to 8. Tho play was very ragged throughout. Wanganui played much better in this game than in the gatne against Wellington, particularly as regards tho backs, whilo Christ's Collego gave a very indifferent exhibition. Duncan (2), Bayley, Mucdonell, and Porritt 6cored for Wanganui, one try being converted. Cos scored a try for Christ's College- end Taltoth kicked a penalty goal. RANFURLY SHIELD STATCH TO-DAY. At Atbletic Park this afternoon Wanganui will play Wellington for, tho Hanfurly Shield, and a good game anticipated. The local team will be at full strongth, whilst Wanganui will be represented by the touring team, whioh goes south on Monday night. The game will be played on No. 1 ground, unless the weather clears this morning. Wellington touring teams play Jlanawatu at Palmerston Nortli and Marl' borough at Blenheim to-day. Wellington defeated Golden Bay and Motueka on Wednesday, by nine points to five. During th'is tour Wognn hns sustained a broken rib, and Arthur Parker a serious injury to one of his knees. This hns left Wellington with only a bare fifteen for the concluding match to-day, and E. Pearce has bafn sen: to join the team at Blenheim;
