UNIONISM
Sir,—For many years I was a free man, but .now. I am a slave,—body and soul. Like the spider and tho fly, in the first instance I was hypnotised into the union web, a web that lias now become shackles, and has completely deprived me of nil my former liberty. Knowing that the unions are (warming with spit*, one has to keep one's mouth closed, foiif (inr man weio go foolish a<s to openly complain' of the slavory of unionism, ho would bo regarded by the "Bosses" as a traitor, and, sooner or later, would sulltt 1 as such. Our law, by compelling us, to join the unions, lias handed us over to the tender mercies of the extremist;, and as we are compelled to obey orders, jve. do many things that wo are heartily ashamed of. Do we want to .pit slow! Do we want to strikoP Certainly not. AU."this' miftfablrsiate of»nffAtrs can 1* altered at onco, and if, the .Government would take a ballot ro-mcri'ow and ascertain our views with regard to compulsory unionism when' tliev would find that two men out of every three of us would thank God, and immediately free ourseiven from slaverv, 1 aw, ,otc., . ..
