SHORTHAND SPEED TESTS
The director of Gilby's Collego has received from Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons, Melbourne, the result of a shorthand theory examination, held on Juno 17 last, also the result of a shorthand speed taamination, held on Juno 18 last. Nineteen candidates wero presented lor theory certificates, and eighteen passed. The following; is tho list of successful candidates, tho first threo names being plaoed in order of merit :-Misses Eileen Charles, Ein w. Houlde-r, Edna- Sutton, Jessie Flair, Alice Eowker Florence Domnßter, Kleen French, Olivo Jenliins, Sheila JlacDousall, Itita M'Mnllcn, Mrs. Ethel Pavitt. Misses Thelma Sands, Doris Taylor, Nancio Ward. Sylvia WilkeninEr, Katherine Wilson, Christina Young, Evalinc Young. The undermentioned students were successful in obtaining shorthand speed certificates:120 Words per minutes: Miss Gwendolino Wilkinson: 110 words per ininuto: Miss Florence Eempfitcr, Miss Doris Paul; 100 words por minuto: Misses Tessie O. lair, Eileen crharlcs. Elri W. Iloulder. Thelma S:uids. Edna Sutton; 63 words per minutes: Miss Doris Taylor; 70 words T-er minutes: Miss Christina YouneThe Mount Cook Hermltago will be opened fo? tho winter sports season from October 1.
