IMPROVED SITUATION REPORTED. (Rec. August 25, 7.30 p.m.) London, August 24. Tho War Office reports that in Mesopotamia the situation has improved. Tho areas north-east ami north of tfagdad are quiet. A strong body of tribesmen made several attacks on a party of bikhs covering blockhouse-construction south of Hillah. The attackers were beaten otf with heavy losses.
